FCVC 2026 Wraps Up | CIMC Hexagon’s Type 4 Hydrogen Storage Products Stand Out

From June 10 to 12, 2026, the 10th International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Vehicle Congress & Exhibition (FCVC 2026) was held at the Huaqiao International Expo Center in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. Under the theme “New Chapter for Hydrogen: Fostering Future Industries through Full-Chain Collaboration”, the event gathered leading global companies and showcased cutting-edge technologies in the hydrogen and fuel cell sector. The exhibition spanned 25,000 square meters, attracting over 300 exhibitors and more than 15,000 professional visitors. As a key player in Type 4 high-pressure hydrogen storage technology, CIMC Hexagon presented its core products, garnering significant attention throughout the event.

I. In the Spotlight of CCTV: Type 4 Hydrogen Storage Products Make a Strong Impression

During FCVC 2026, CIMC Hexagon’s Type 4 hydrogen storage cylinders — designed for distribution and mobility — were featured in a CCTV news report, reaffirming the company’s technological expertise and influence within the Type 4 hydrogen storage industry.

  • The Type 4 distribution cylinder exhibited operates at a working pressure of 38 MPa and features a unique structure composed of a “non-metallic liner + composite winding layer”. The Type 4 MEGC (Multi-Element Gas Container), which comprises these cylinders, can store over one tonne of hydrogen in a 40-foot container configuration. Compared to traditional transport methods, this solution delivers significant advancements in both storage capacity and transport efficiency, making it ideal for commercial applications that require medium-to-long distance and large-volume hydrogen supply.
  • The Type 4 cylinder designed for mobility (35MPa, 450L) offers excellent advantages in lightweight design and high safety, providing an efficient and reliable hydrogen storage solution for fuel cell vehicles.

II. President Wan Gang Visits the Booth, Recognizes Type 4 Hydrogen Storage Innovation

On the first day of the exhibition, Mr. Wan Gang, President of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), visited CIMC Hexagon’s booth. Mr. Xu Yongsheng, President of CIMC ENRIC Hydrogen Energy Business Center, and Ms. Yang Baoying, Decision Committee Member of CIMC ENRIC, introduced the technical features, application scenarios, and market positioning of the company’s Type 4 hydrogen storage cylinders and MEGC products. President Wan expressed interest in the company’s technological exploration in Type 4 hydrogen storage and gave positive remarks.

As the global hydrogen industry accelerates toward large-scale and commercial development, President Wan’s visit recognizes CIMC Hexagon’s technological efforts and signals national support for the localization and advanced manufacturing of hydrogen storage and transport equipment.

III. Product Launch at FCVC Talks: Type 4 MEGC Officially Unveiled

During the exhibition, Mr. Wang Wenxuan, Sales Director of CIMC Hexagon, officially launched the Type 4 MEGC at the “New Technology, New Product” session of the FCVC Talks salon. This product is based on a Type 4 full-composite cylinder technology platform, complies with international standards including ADR and TPED, and is adaptable for road, rail, inland waterway, and sea transport. Its modular design supports configurations ranging from 10 to 45 feet, offering a safer, more efficient, and lower-cost solution for global hydrogen storage and transport.

As a joint venture formed by CIMC ENRIC and Hexagon Purus — a global leader in composite high-pressure hydrogen storage — CIMC Hexagon combines Hexagon Purus’s technological expertise and global validation experience with CIMC ENRIC’s strengths in energy equipment manufacturing and full-industry-chain layout. This new product launch further solidifies CIMC Hexagon’s technological position in the Type 4 hydrogen storage sector and adds fresh momentum to the high-end and international development of China’s hydrogen storage and transport equipment.

IV. General Manager Leads Team in Business Discussions with International Customers

During the exhibition, Mr. Li Hui, General Manager of CIMC Hexagon, along with the sales heads for Type 3 and Type 4 cylinders, held business discussions with an international customer at the booth’s meeting area. The two sides exchanged views on the application of hydrogen storage cylinders in fuel cell vehicles and discussed potential cooperation, building on previous conversations.

This exchange marked an important step toward deeper partnership, creating favorable conditions for future collaboration. CIMC Hexagon remains committed to maintaining an open and pragmatic approach to international cooperation, working alongside global industry leaders to advance the healthy development of the hydrogen mobility industry.

Driving Global Hydrogen Storage and Transport Through Technological Innovation

CIMC Hexagon’s strong presence at FCVC 2026 demonstrates its progress in Type 4 technology and commitment to global collaboration. Looking ahead, CIMC Hexagon will continue to utilize the technological and industrial resources of its parent companies, focusing on the R&D and industrialization of Type 4 hydrogen storage cylinders and system solutions, thereby assisting in the global expansion of China’s hydrogen storage equipment.
